In February, we moved to Columbus. Mike got a position in federal law enforcement; he started training back in the end of November. He trains at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Brunswick. Right now, he's only able to come home on weekends during training, and now, during Spanish, he only comes every other weekend, or so. His position requires that he be fluent enough in Spanish to interview and interrogate. He had been applying for this position for two years. He left his position as a deputy sheriff for an opportunity he couldn't pass up.
For me, being finished with my internships and leaving St. Augustine is a great thing. I am finally done with school. Finally. There's so many people from my school that are staying in the area, that finding a position that would be fulfilling for me would probably be difficult.
Leaving Florida is really a great fresh start for the both of us.
