Bluum Box: May Review

Yay! I love getting my packages, it's like a little surprise each month when I open it! Another subscription box review! I'm trying to catch up on all of these so that I'll be right on as I receive them for August!

You can view last month's bluum box review here.

Bluum May Theme
Oh the Places You'll Go

How I do not have individual pictures of each item, I do not know!

What they say:
Comes in a 40 count full size package. Two sample packets included. Formulated to calm, soothe and protect, these soft pre-moistened, paraben-free, water-resistant wipes deliver powerful SPF 30 protection for the face. For continuous protection, reapply as needed during direct sun exposure, swimming or exercise. Recommended for babies to adults.
What an INGENIOUS idea! Seriously. I hate getting sunblock on my hands in a totally different SPF than I would wear elsewhere. They are quick, super easy and I can toss a few in my husband's golf bag and he can't say he forgot the sunblock again! The only bad thing? Babies always try to eat any wet wipe/cloth that comes near their faces!  Fantastic sample bluum!

What they say:
3.5 oz. This range of Ella’s 1 Baby Food has been created to provide a healthy combined option for moms who want to give their little ones more than just fruit but are not yet ready to go onto dairy and protein – a perfect solution for hungrier babies! Handy for mom - no need to prepare fruit and rice cereal separately. Great for hungrier babies who need a carbohydrate. Suitable for little ones from 4 months old. Squeeze into bowl or onto spoon. Older babies may enjoy slurping from pouch! NO added water, NO preservatives or thickeners, NO E numbers or GM, NO gluten, wheat, dairy or lactose, NO lumps or bits and nothing artificial, Unsweetened and unsalted, Contains naturally occurring sugars.
Well. I love Ella's Kitchen products. I buy them regularly. However, I am not a fan of how they describe this sample. The American Academy of Pediatrics AND World Health Organization recommend babies are not introduced any foods other than breast milk until the child is at least 6 months of age. So, Ella's dad, this is NOT suitable for 4 & 5 month olds. K? When we first introduced solids to Little Miss A, she wasn't so interested, and honestly, I wasn't going to push solids. Food before one is just for fun! Final word on this one? Yup, Little Miss A *hearts* this one!

Bath time is a special way to show baby how much you care. Baby Me Shampoo & Wash is made with the finest cleansers and natural botanicals the Earth has to offer. This mild and tearless "all-purpose" baby wash that leaves your little one squeaky clean and smelling delicious! A surprisingly effective clean, this emollient-rich formula also soothes and protects from the top of baby's beautiful big head to the tips of tiny wiggling toes.
Well, I have a million different samples of baby wash. This one smells good, is a no tears formula and conveniently packaged. Sample sized is perfect for our upcoming roadtrip!

Tackle skin woes head-on with an all-in-one solution for flawless skin - Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil is an advanced, multi-purpose skin perfection product that can be used all over the body and face. This dynamic dry oil is fortified with a variety of skin-loving ingredients designed to help improve skin care concerns including scars, stretch marks and uneven skin. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil is hypoallergenic, paraben-free, phthalate-free and dermatologist tested. This preservative-free, lightweight formula contains an exclusive blend of key ingredients to smooth and help improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, dry skin, uneven skin tone and fine lines and wrinkles. The secret is in the unique Rapidermal Absorption Systeme® which helps ingredients penetrate the epidermal layer to deliver targeted benefits without greasiness. The product quickly absorbs into skin leaving behind softness and hydration while retaining skin's moisture.
Well, anything for my dry skin is something I love to try. It's really not that greasy, but it kind of smells funky. It has the traditional cocoa butter scent, but an after scent of funk. I can't exactly put my finger on it. Anyhow, it works great for my skin, but the smell just isn't something I can get past.

My Dentist's Choice Tooth Tissues
30- CT pouch. Tooth Tissues are N.P.A. (Natural Products Assocuiation) certified natural, dental wipes for babies and toddlers. The American Dental Association recommends, wiping baby's mouth even BEFORE teeth have erupted. Tradititionally, parents have used a wet wash cloth. Tooth Tissues, made of bamboo, is the convenient replacement of the wet wash cloth with the benefit of xylitol. They are paraben-free, fluoride-free, and unflavored. Babies do not need to be exposed to artificial flavors.
The idea is novel. However, I personally find it wasteful. I use cloth napkins because I hate wasting paper towels. Seriously. Just use a toothbrush or washcloth... and the added benefit of the washcloth will allow you to massage their gums with the rough surface, helping teething move along.

So, in all? The May box was a win. Some great items, a couple not so great ones. But overall, pretty fantastic.

Have you signed up yet? Well, if not, go get you some bluum!

The above opinions are my own. I purchased this box myself and was not compensated to write this review.

  1. Oh my! I love the idea of a sunscreen wipe! How much easier it will be to apply sunscreen to both kids! As for the teeth thing, Toys-R-Us sells this "teething banana brush" it's pretty inexpensive and it massages the gums while cleaning teeth that have sprouted. I am going to pick one up for Sopheria on pay day. Now I have to find out where to purchase sunscreen wipes! That is ingenius!
