Seriously, who loves housework? Not me!!! HomeJoy Home Cleaning Service: Just in time for Spring Cleaning!

Being a full-time working mom means that some things oftentimes are a little hectic. I know we have been ordering way too much take out lately. Not only that, I know the order in our home suffers. Even though we moved here over a year ago, we still have many unpacked boxes and haven't gotten all of our "new" organizational furniture. Because of this, mail gets piled on the dining room table, things get left around and ignored, and dishes are left in the sink to be addressed the next day, and the next day, and the next... I know all of you guys know what I am talking about.

When I was pregnant with Nugget, I had family coming into town to visit. I was about 34 weeks pregnant, still working full time. We held a fantastic little baby shower in our home. Well, my husband didn't marry me for my housekeeping skills; he married me for my cooking (but that's another post all together ;) I knew I needed help for cleaning my house to make it company friendly.

Let's be honest here, things just aren't high on the priority list (cleaning anyone?), so we wait until there's time or there's company coming to take care of it all. I know for sure I was more interested in making it through my days at work without contractions and sleeping in order to function. Cleaning was the last on my list. I hired a cleaning lady that did a "spot cleaning" but really didn't do all the cleaning I would have preferred and couldn't really do comfortably, such as the baseboards, wipe down the blinds, things like that.

At last, HomeJoy provides the services you need for YOUR specific home situation- they WANT you be as picky as you need and provide great customer service while they're at it.

About Homejoy:
Everyone Deserves A Happy Home
At Homejoy we are starting a movement to make cleaning services available to a broad audience, rather than a luxury for the rich. Additionally, we’re providing thousands of work opportunities to individuals who love to clean. By creating an easy way to match homeowners with trusted, professional service providers at an affordable rate, we’re taking the first step toward our mission of creating happy homes everywhere.

Homejoy’s Story
Founded by sister and brother Adora and Aaron Cheung in July 2012, Homejoy started because the duo was unable to find a convenient and affordable cleaning service for their own home. Headquartered in San Francisco, CA, Homejoy has now grown to over 30 cities across the US and Canada. Whether you are a parent or a college student Homejoy is a easy solution to help out with your household chores. If you need a cleaning once a year, once a month, or twice a week, Homejoy will fit to your schedule and is affordable at $20 an hour!

Booking is easy! You can book, cancel, and reschedule cleanings directly on the Homejoy website via your computer or smartphone. All it takes is four simple steps:
1. Visit www.homejoy.com
2. Enter your zip code and a few details about your home
3. Choose a time that’s convenient for you
4. Provide your payment information and book!

It really is just that easy. When I went to make a reservation, I was able to find a reservation within a few days, at fairly convenient times for myself and my husband's hectic schedules. What's even better is they offer weekend services, so until you're comfortable allowing your cleaning person into your home alone, then you're able to be at home while they perform their services. In addition, they provide thorough background checks on their personnel, ensuring the safety of your family and your valuables. As I said above, they even ask that you provide them with a list of priorities to perform while they're completing their home cleaning service. At least this way, you're not being "picky" when giving a list- they WANT one!!! Hallelujah!

We moms don't ask for help when we need it. Full time work outside of the home moms, Stay at home moms, work from home moms, part time working moms... we never do. It's a fatal flaw in the "must be able to do everything and be "super mom".

But you know what? We really need a little help just to get things organized and cleaned up in order to make our house a little more liveable and just happy. I know I do, especially with a two year old. Even though most days she's great at helping pick up her toys, some nights, we're all just exhausted and don't even bother. Plus having three dogs and two cats, it can make for a  slightly cluttered, oftentimes furry, home.

The prices cannot be beat- at $20 per hour, you're getting the home cleaning service you need and want, with discounts for subscribers and repeat customers. In addition, HomeJoy will be providing Ramblings of Mama readers with a special discount code on your first cleaning!

  1. That sounds good to me. I'm not the tidiest person. If I did have someone in to clean, I'd run around and clean first so they didn't see what a mess it was.

  8. I just started spring cleaning. It's such a big job, I just go from one room to the next. I usually do a bit here and there. When I do, I get nothing done.

  9. I'm glad to know that I am not the only one who neglects house cleaning duties. It would be so nice to have someone come in and help clean. Spring cleaning has gotten off to a slow start at my house, but I'm determined to organize this place. I agree, "Everyone Deserves A Happy Home."
