Oh, let me count the ways: Organic Coconut Butter, How it Benefits YourSkin

Skin Benefits of Organic Coconut Butter

Organic coconut butter possesses a number of benefits for the entire body; because, it's full of vitamins and essential fatty acids our bodies need to function at our optimal levels. Used in baking, it can be a delectable, nutritious substitute for other, less healthy fats or oils. It's also good for dry, damaged hair. Perhaps the most beneficial uses, though, is to improve the look and feel of skin, particularly rough or flaky wintertime skin. However, coconut butter is nourishing and healing to skin all year long. Here are some benefits of coconut butter for your skin.

Antibacterial Properties

A natural antibacterial agent, coconut butter is perfect for taking care of acne, dandruff, eczema or other skin conditions. This is definitely a powerful hidden benefit not many are aware of.

Skin Nourishing Fatty Acids

Lauric acid is found in coconut butter and oil. This essential fatty acid is able to penetrate deep into the skin's lower layers to add and lock in much-needed moisture. Lauric acid helps to protect skin from the natural moisture loss that occurs during the harsh and dry winter months.

Wound Healing
Another not-so-obvious benefit of coconut butter is its ability to help heal wounds. The reason for this characteristic is that it contains Vitamin E, which is known to be excellent at skin repair and to reduce scarring. When I was in the middle of my bout of thrush and dealing with the horrid lip tie, cracked nipples were horrid. This is a safe, effective and healthy method of helping your body heal- and it's vegan (winner against Lanolin, which is made from sheep!!!)

SPF Protection

Bet you didn't know that coconut butter contains a natural SPF of about 4. That's why it's often found in tanning products and after-sun concoctions. Therefore, a beauty product containing coconut butter can help to protect the skin from the sun's damaging UV rays.

For all of these benefits and more, you'll want to consider skin care and beauty products that contain coconut butter. In addition to this miracle ingredient, look for ones that contain other organic ingredients and that are free of sulfates, parabens, dimethicone, EDTA, pthalates or propylene glycol, as these are all unnatural, harmful chemicals found in many commercial products. It's helpful to read the label and look for words like "natural", "organic" or "chemical-free" in order to be sure you're getting a quality item that's good for your skin.

Definitely make sure you check out Organic coconut butter to help with all the above and a million more reasons why you need coconut in your life!!!

  3. My daughter has exzema and has used so many different products including prescriptions. Coconut butter and shea butter (not together) are the only products she will use now, it's made that much of a difference.

    1. One of my closest friends uses this combo and it is AMAZING for her daughter.
The only thing she uses when having to bust out the big stuff is when she is completely raw and uses silvadine.

  5. Great list of uses! I'm assuming you don't have to wash it off before breast-feeding? I feel like I need to get some coconut butter for my hands. Having a winter baby = dry, cold air + constant handwashing = ugghhh, driest, worst skin EVER. As if that weren't bad enough, I caught a blistery rash from the little, and now that the rash is healing, it's making my skin peel off. Gnarly! Could really use something antibacterial + moisturizing!
