I'm not sure why, but for some reason after I typed the title "Make It for Mom: Musical Gifts" it
brought back the memory of my cousins singing "Beans, beans the musical fruit...." Just in case anyone else is having that same crazy thought (I doubt anyone else is, but you never know), I want to make it clear that I am not encouraging "farting" out a song for your mother. Nor do I feel it would be a good idea to give her a pile of beans to eat with Mother's Day brunch.
However, I think it's a great idea to bring some music into her life, in a non-smelly type of way that is.
Last week Ramblings of Mama posted about how music can magically evoke emotion. We challenged our readers to harness the power of a song that "just makes you feel good" and use it whenever you need a pick me up. If you haven't read the post (or don't even remember what you did 10 minutes ago much less something you read last week - yes I have been there way too many times) check out Music is Magic - Bring It On: http://ow.ly/wfcBr
So, here is my thought - Why not do the same thing for YOUR Mom? Put together music that you know will make her smile every time she listens to it. (Bonus: She'll also remember that YOU are the one who brought that smile to her face!)
