2015 in 2015: Weeks 5 & 6

Welcome to 2015 in 2015, hosted by Heather over at Mommy's Favorite Things and Michelle here on Ramblings of Mama. Where we are going to purge our homes and our lives and get rid of 2015 items in a year.

The average 3 bedroom american home has 350,000 items in it! Doesn't seem possible right? Count every toy, count every piece of paper, count all the pens you have. It adds up quickly. This is only a beginning, but getting rid of 2015 items in a year is HUGE!

So far for this year I'm up to a meager 348 items, and Heather is up to 760 items!

Heather says:
I went at it really hard and fast in the beginning of the month/year, but then we got sick and I really slacked off. For the most part though I throw away at least a couple items a day, so it's still helping me get to that ultimate goal!
Everyone participating in this challenge, how are you doing? 6 items a day is all that's needed to more than hit the 2015 at the end of the year. So keep pushing hard and throwing away the junk!

Let's see how the members of the FB group have been doing!

Shelagh Cleaned out her Makeup Drawer in just 5 minutes!! Look at that difference!

Liz took all this to Goodwill!

Stefanie got rid of 288 items!!

You guys are ROCKING this challenge!!!!! Lets keep this up and all get to the 2015 together!

These next couple weeks, lets also try to focus on not bringing as much into the house. Junk mail can be thrown away outside before even entering the home. Buy less items, OR when you buy something, get rid of something similar in the house.

This is a great way to keep the clutter at bay.

So here is the next 2 weeks checklist!

We are on Instagram where we will be sharing people's purge photos. So tag us and we'll share it too!! We're also on Facebook. Join us there and post your lists of what you've gotten rid of as well as photos and just a place to chat and have some fun!

Are you participating in our challenge?
WHAT's HOLDING YOU BACK?
