ChicoBag Reusable Grocery Bags, Packs and Totes for anyone On the Go

One thing my family and I have done over the last couple years to become more Eco- and Earth friendly, is reduce waste, specifically plastic waste, by using reusable grocery bags. I was introduced to ChicoBag while on one of my OT internships (BIG HUGE shout out to Nancy Marin of Occuplay, Inc in Ponte Vedra, FL, that helped me rebuild my confidence to working in pediatrics!!!)  They quickly became one of my favorite reusable grocery and carry-all bags. I started checking out all of their newer  options and was too stoked!   They're easy to use, small enough to toss in your purse, diaper bag, and glove box, and carries 2-4 times the amount of groceries and weight that a plastic bag would. They have so many great options, so many fun colors and styles, they're easy to carry, and have literally a bag for all of your on-the-go needs.

ChicoBags fold up in a teeny size, so they're ideal for any mom on the go. I can fit three to four of the Original and Vita bags inside my diaper bag, and I'm still able to fit in all the baby necessities. Let me tell you a little about ChicoBag and you'll see why they're so fantastic:
At ChicoBag, their mission is to help humanity bag the single-use habit. We mean the wasteful, throw-away habit that overflows our landfills and clogs our oceans. We do this by advocating for waste reduction and designing the highest quality, longest lasting reusable bags. We partner with organizations, businesses, and schools who share our mission by co-branding our bags and a curated collection of other quality reusable alternatives to single-use waste. We offer products that empower people to take an active role in solving the single-use problem. At ChicoBag, we make bagging the single-use habit easy.
I received a variety of bags to test out for this review, and hands down have some new favorite bags. I received The Original ChicoBag, The Vita,  The Hobo rePETe, and the  Produce Stand Complete Starter Kit to test out in real life situations for all of you. The checkout guy at the Trader Joes was LOVING my bags. He was impressed with the weight of The Vita bag and the ability to put so much inside! He loved the different produce bags and was quite impressed with the quality of the bags.

The Original ChicoBag is a compact reusable bag designed to stuff into an integrated stuff pouch when not in use, allowing the entire bag to fit easily in your pocket. The pouch features a carabiner so your bag can be clipped anywhere- purse, glove box, even a large carabiner for multiple bags. Made of machine washable, durable polyester and complete with a 25 pound carrying capacity and two convenient handles, the Original is the ideal reusable bag to take to the grocery store or farmers' market. It tosses easily over your shoulder for quick and easy carrying to your car.

The Vita features a forty pound carrying capacity and shoulder length straps making it an ideal companion for any day trip or shopping outing.
This baby easily fit 6 regular sized bottles of juice (or soda).  It is made of durable, machine washable fabric, so if something leaks on it from the store, it is truly no big deal. Just toss in the wash (unfolded) and then it is ready for the next use. You could hand wash and line dry, but I'm lazy. The Vita reusable bag compacts down into an attached pouch with a carabiner clip when not in use for easy storage in your purse or glove box. I love the attached pouch feature because you literally don't have to go hunting for the storage bag, as my three year old believes all teeny bags are her "treasures bags" and she will not share. This saves mama's sanity.   Be sure to check out my YouTube vlog on how quickly you can fold up that Vita bag!

The Hobo rePETe is an expandable carry all that can be worn as a stylish hobo-style bag, (woot for all those hippie hobo mamas) or expand to accommodate impromptu purchases. This was my go-to bag when carrying things back and forth while the twins were in the NICU. It fit in all the necessities, including a few more not so important things, but things that were nice to have in that icky sterile environment.
The bag features a large zippered main compartment, interior zipper pocket, front slip pocket for added organization and storage and a tie together strap that allows for a custom fit for cross body or over shoulder wear, and even adds a feminine touch, though Hubby insisted he definitely loved the bag, too, The interior pocket doubles as a storage pouch for the entire bag, making it perfect for travel- folding up and placing in your purse or diaper bag for those last minute "on I need a bag" moments. It's made of recycled materials and finished with a subtle, heat embossed pattern. The Hobo was designed for the eco-chic adventurista on a mission to tread lightly on the planet, while looking good.

The Produce Stand Complete Starter Kit is a great alternative to single-use disposable produce bags and makes it easy to remember your reusable produce bags every time you shop. The Produce Stand Complete Starter Kit consists of three different reusable produce bags, each made of a different fabric: rePETe, rePETe Mesh, and a Hemp-Cotton blend. All three bags are machine washable and stuff into an adorable apple pouch with an attached carabiner, making it easy to carry and store your reusable bags when not in use. The Produce Stand Complete Starter Kit is the key to reducing your environmental impact and completely eliminating single-use plastic bags from your shopping trips.

Hands down, ChicoBag is a fantastic company that makes for a great gift for a new mom, teachers, friends, and anyone that is interested in starting to green their lives and not quite sure how to start. My sister was SOOOO jealous that I got to review these, she even tried sneaking my product stand collection back home with her to Memphis when she was here visiting a couple months back!

So, do yourself and the environment a favor and pick up a handful of these ChicoBags for your glove box, center console, diaper bag, purse, and just regular on-the-go grocery shopping. Make sure you connect with ChicoBag for special discounts via their email and their social media accounts!!!

  4. I love that they are stylish and environmentally friendly. It is also really nice that they are so small when folded up. I love the idea of not using plastic bags for groceries. I currently still am, but I reuse them for kitty litter waste bags. Still wind up in the same place I guess, but at least they are getting an extra use.

  6. We recycle as much as possible. My husband made me a re-usable brown paper bag for it. He took the plastic bags that you get at the grocery store and ironed them on top of the brown bag. It's held up for several years.
